The Unforgotten Christmas
The cat watched curiously out the door window, as Jonah paced back, and forth pulling his hair. Jonah came back in a hurry.
He began to decorate the kitchen with what- knots of Christmas, and scatter them about in such an organized clutter. Jonah kissed the napping cat.
Jonah stared at the gift, and contemplating suicide note, he had written for his mom the night before. She never spent Christmas with him. Jonah finished a bowl of trail mix. Tears drenched his feet.
The chair fell causing a loud bang.
Jonah was swinging back and forth, as the cat watched.

Shenine, what a sad Christmas story! I like the title of your blog, BTW, and welcome to the Fictioneers.
Author of Christian Comfort & Conversation said:
Hi sustainabiliti. Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed. Yes, what a sad Christmas story. Unfortunately, this is surreal in someone’s heart and home as the holiday draws near.

So sad. The finality of it all. Wonder why his mother never spent Christmas with him? On a happier note…Welcome to FF. I like you profile photo and blog also.
Author of Christian Comfort & Conversation said:
Hi Lora, thanks for stopping by. So many questions to make us think, and do a self check in the lives of our children. Cherish them now.
They are so precious and few!
I am glad you enjoyed your visit, do come again.

Well, that was cheery, Shenine. Good use of elements in the photo, especially the cat… watching Jonah swing away. Glad you are back.
Author of Christian Comfort & Conversation said:
Thanks. Sorry tedstruz. I’m glad our joy comes from the Lord! Unfortunately, this does happen in the hearts and homes today. Perhaps we can cherish our love ones and pay close attention to the warning signs ahead of time.

The holidays tend to accentuate the loneliness and sorrow an individual feels. If only Jonah knew where to turn for help. If he would lend himself to it. A broken family situation is tough. Unfortunately, too many people stem from such situations. And you’re right, we should never get so busy that we stop paying attention to the loved ones in our lives, less we miss the warning signs. Deep and touching piece, Shenine. Welcome to Friday Fictioneers.

Thanks Debra for stopping by. God is faithful.

Debra, thank you for sharing your heart. May we stay prayerful for the less fortunate, and remain thankful in all ways.

Dear Shenine,
And the cat isn’t going to offer up one of its nine lives either, right? A sad story for a lonely Christmas.
Aloha,
Doug
Author of Christian Comfort & Conversation said:
Doug, I don’t think so. Yes, it is sad but a reality for some.

Not very cheery for Christmas, but then they say it’s the worst time to be alone. Well done.
Author of Christian Comfort & Conversation said:
writondude, as I wrote this however sad, is that Christmas is not filled with love, joy, or Jesus in every home. Some homes are filled with sorrow, sadness, loliness, depression, and bitterness for whatever reasons.
Those that are fortunate should rejoice, but also offer a helping hand or prayer to someone less fortunate this year and everyday there after.
