Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. Galatians 2:10

Hi, so we did our planning and decided to call our bags: Bags of Compassion: Hope for the Homeless (where our Heart resides with God)!

My children and I came up with the list, here it goes:

Miniature Bible for comfort and spiritual feeding, (most important gift we can give)!

Bottled water to wash the word of God down and replenish the body.

Travel sanitizer to keep the hands clean

1 bar of Soap (Dial Antibacterial) to wash body, or personal clothing items

Granola bar for that energy boost to stay alert

Crackers for those hungry moments

1 Pair of socks to keep those tired feet stay warm and dry

Toothbrush and toothpaste(travel size) to keep our praises fresh unto the Lord!

Baby Wipes for general purpose.

We will create labels that says this :

Bags of Compassion: Hope for the Homeless (where our Heart resides with God)!

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38

We have chosen large freezer bags because they are transparent and they can easily see, and retrieve an item. Its plastic vs. paper so it’s durable and waterproof.

Okay so we are so excited, and ready to serve others in their time of need. We will make three bags in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Once we give a bag out we will replenish that bag. Remembering to always keep three on hand. This system allows us to budget. When God places it upon us to give more, it is then He will equip us with more to do more! We will go to my favorite store, The Dollar Tree, to purchase items.

Our budget: 9 items – $9 times 3 bags = $27, but it may be less because most items like crackers, toothbrushes, sanitizer, and soap come in three’s and six. Pray and ask God what’s your budget for your home and heart. Even if you make one bag, that a person being shown God’s love & Compassion. Spreading Hope should be contagious.

I love you, and will be sharing our journey as we prepare the bags of Compassion for those in need. We are so over-joyed! My children are excited to make these bags, such a blessing indeed. My daughter suggested we also start collecting coats for the winter….I smiled because she has a heart to give more, sounds like she has my genes……..smiling!
