We are constantly told that money is the root of all evil. I don’t agree. Self is the root of all evil! Self is what gets in the way, when it goes from self-discipline to being self-centered. Yes, think about it. How often do you think about the man on the cross who gave His life for you?
How often do you really think about death? How often do you think about your moral choices from day-to-day? Do you think about eternal life or being judged by God for your sins? Self gets in the way, doesn’t it? How many times have you taken revenge against another though you knew right from wrong? How many of you are holding a grudge now? You know you deliberately don’t show love, lack kindness, avoid interacting with certain individuals because you are holding a grudge. Or you react in sarcasm.

We all are guilty of some kind of self centeredness . Some will admit it and others won’t. We must remove self and put God back on the throne. Yes, you must forgive the person who wounded you because then God cannot forgive you if you don’t forgive your brethren.
Leviticus 19:18 Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
How many times have you told a lie, but called it a mistake? Maybe you promised buy or do something for someone but never did it. That’s not a mistake that’s a lie. God hates a liar, so make it right…….it’s not to late! When you give your word, then you must follow through with it. By doing this you remove self.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.
Let’s talk about money. Money is a tangible piece of paper that is controlled by man. You have wealthy people who give, and some who don’t. You have poor people who give more than the wealthy. In the end it comes down to the user behind the dollar bill. Self determines to give or to be stingy. Have you ever gave someone a nice gift and in return they gave you a gift, or nothing, but you didn’t feel as much thought was put into it?

Again maybe it was maybe it wasn’t. Remove self and accept with a cheerful heart because God sees and knows all things! As long as your heart is in alignment that’s what matters. You can’t worry about others and their actions, or motives. God knows the truth, and that individual knows the truth. They know if they lied, or done a person wrong who has shown love in the abundance to them.

I’m a cheerful giver, and I use to get wounded a lot. Why because everyone wants to receive love, but some people are closed fist by nature. Let go let God! It’s not about the receiver, but about the giver! The giver of Life and death is Christ! So when you give it is as if He is resurrecting again and He is in YOU! But when you rob Him, by robbing His children then it’s like putting Him to death, or taking His death in vain. We are to live for Christ because He lives in us to share His love.
Why would someone receive, but wouldn’t think another wouldn’t want to receive. Would you feed only one of your children, when four sits at the table? You would fix all plates and let them decide to eat or not. Well, Christ has sent out the invites and inside He lies on a cross. What more must He did for you to accept His way?
Remove self and love the difficult. Love those who are unloving to you.
The root of all evil is self. Self won’t allow you to love out loud. Self competes, and is for self not unity. Self is prideful and let’s it’s ego get in the way!
The man on the cross deserves your love, your very best to give to Him by giving to others. If you’re selfish then you rob Gods people of being truly loved, forgiven, and accepted wholeheartedly! So the next time you hear someone say money is the root of all evil, you can say no it’s self. The house, the cars, clothes and purses will out-live all of us.
Own your treasures don’t let them own you!
Serve God and not Money…..Worship Christ and not material things of the world. Give back.
