“I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope He has given to those He called—His holy people who are His rich and glorious inheritance.” (Ephesians 1:15-18) #identity #loved #cherished #valuable

Christmas is not about materialism, but giving through Christ. We are to give and it doesn’t mean we can’t give to our children during the season. It means give God first of what we earn, and then give to others.

God wants us to excel. Why? Because He wants us to excel in the grace of giving? It’s because he influences the world through His people. God gives to you so He can give through you. If you read your bible then you know that everything we have is from God.  It’s His gift to us.

1 Chronicles 29:14 14 But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us.

As you give faithfully, the word is shared, people’s lives are touched, people are fed, bodies are made whole, in turn, you are blessed by God so that you can give continuously. As my grandmother use to say, “closed hands can’t receive, it is love, and true giving when you can give someone something you love so much, and not the leftovers you don’t care about.”

Some people justify not giving to others, but are okay to receive. How hypocritical!  Don’t just preach on the reason for the season. Put your love for God in action because faith with no works is dead. The bible talks more about giving than anything else. So don’t use this season to excuse yourself from giving back to others less fortunate, or giving in love period!

God word cannot apply only when it fits the occasion for you.   Giving is not just for Christmas, it should be a daily act. Giving is God, but NOT for the wrong reasons or motives. How can you be a Christ follower, and not give? There are two types of giving to me:

Free will, which is of choice to help support another, or organization. (Compassion)

Required, which is giving God His portion of fruit first. (Obedience and Love for God)

There are many who will say they know God, but they’re closed fist until it’s their time to receive or purchase for themselves. God wants us to have compassion for others. Many will say they don’t have the money to sponsor or donate to a greater cause, but if you look closely you will see these same individuals splurging in the store buying every name brand clothing there is. How can you rob the one who blesses you?

There is nothing wrong with shopping as long as your home is provided for, and you don’t become materialistic. Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is. Where is ye faith to trust Jesus? Walk out on faith and give back even if your bank account say you cant because there are no can’t (s) with God. Only TRUST. Faith is the unseen.

Be blessed and not deceived. Merry Christmas says, God gave His life for us. That’s giving all day long. He gives daily. Reciprocate!!
